Doctor of Nursing Practice, Student
Hometown: Minneapolis, MN
DNP, Saint Mary's College
BSN, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
Why did you pursue this degree?
I wanted to advance in caring for patients differently then I do currently as a nurse
What has been the most rewarding part of the program?
I love the instructors. They are there to help the student grow and be successful as they progress in the DNP program. All administration has been helpful in answering additional questions.
What has been the most valuable part of your experience in the graduate program?
The combined easy access to the instructor for questions and the ability to interact with other students via collaborate and board posting. Students come from different parts of the country with varying experiences and interactions, this makes for rich and deeper understanding of the material being covered. I love those interactions.
Please describe your experience with the faculty.
I'm able to connect with them in numerous ways as needed. I appreciate this. Also, I feel as though the faculty really come from the perspective they have your best interests as a student in mind and pursue educating us from that lens. Be successful, graduate and change the world we live in, be a leader.
What advice do you have for prospective students?
If you are thinking you want to go and get your DNP, then Saint Mary's College is the place to be. Don't be afraid step forward and take your next step.
How has program prepared you for your career?
I will be able to take a leadership role in being a change agent for the facility I will work in after graduation. As a forward thinker, I aim to care for patients with integrity and confidence and do it with the most current evidenced based care available.
