If you want a career analyzing large sets of complex data, you're going to need more than just a basic understanding of statistics. In fact, the skill set required to be a data scientist extends beyond math; it includes other skills like computer programming, technical writing, and project management. The Master of Science in Data Science program at Saint Mary's College is committed to providing graduates with the range and depth of expertise to be leaders in data-driven industries. You’ll take courses in applied statistics with an application-focused approach to regression analysis and related techniques, as well as understand the algorithms of data mining, processing, and visualization. Although you'll take rigorous math courses, graduates from this program also have a high level of analytical, technical, and professional knowledge.
To Start, You Need:
A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited school (or international equivalent) in mathematics, business, computer science, information systems, the sciences, health science, quantitative social science or related field or relevant work experience
Finishing Will Take:
Five to six semesters over two years (includes two summer terms)
