Getting to Saint Mary's

Saint Mary’s College is located in northwest Indiana. We are about four hours north of Indianapolis and two hours east of Chicago. You have many options when traveling to Saint Mary’s.

By Air

Saint Mary’s College is about 15-20 minutes from the South Bend Airport (SBN), which offers daily service through many of the country’s largest airport hubs on Delta Connection or United Express flights. Allegiant Air offers flights between South Bend and Las Vegas, NV; Mesa, AZ; Orlando, FL; Punta Gorda, FL; and Tampa Bay, FL. Chicago O’Hare and Chicago Midway airports are also accessible via Coach USA or by car (about 2 hours).

By Car

From the east or west: Interstate 80/90 passes near the Saint Mary's campus making South Bend easily accessible from the East or West. Take the Notre Dame/South Bend exit (exit 77). Turn right onto Indiana 933. The main entrance to Saint Mary’s College is at the second light. Turn right to drive down The Avenue. The Welcome Center is located just past the first stop sign.

From the south: Take U.S. 31 north which becomes Indiana 933 just south of the city of South Bend. Stay on Indiana 933 through downtown South Bend and past The University of Notre Dame and Holy Cross College. The main entrance to Saint Mary’s College will be on your left. Turn left to drive down The Avenue. The Welcome Center is located just past the first stop sign.

By Train

The South Shore Railroad serves South Bend daily from Chicago's Millennium Park (Randolph Street) Station. National train service is provided by Amtrak.

By Bus

Coach USA provides bus service from Chicago O’Hare and Midway Airports directly to the South Bend Airport and the Notre Dame campus. Additional bus services are provided by Trailways, Greyhound and Hoosier Ride via terminals at the South Bend Regional Airport.

Campus Visits and Maps

Most campus visits will begin at the Welcome Center located on The Avenue.
